Jana Kalyan Welfare Society, established in 1992, is a non-profit organization based in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. Our mission is to build a just society rooted in values by empowering marginalized communities through education, organization, and community-driven initiatives. We focus on providing relief and dignity to individuals, particularly those facing economic hardship.



Our Impact

Over the years, we have established women’s groups and savings unions, conducted environmental awareness camps, and addressed health and sanitation issues in remote areas. Our anti-addiction campaigns have helped combat social vices, fostering leadership and problem-solving skills within communities.



Our Story

Jana Kalyan Welfare Society (JKWS) was established in 1992 in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, with a steadfast commitment to empowering marginalized communities through education, organization, and basic relief. Our vision is to create a just society founded on values, with a clear focus on uplifting the poor and the oppressed.

Educating Minds, Transforming Lives

At Jana Kalyan Welfare Society, we are committed to empowering marginalized communities through a variety of programs aimed at fostering holistic development and social change. Our key initiatives include:

Empowerment of Indigenous Women

We focus on empowering indigenous women through education, leadership training, and health awareness programs. Our efforts target women in the Eastern Ghats and fisherfolk communities along the Bay of Bengal, aiming to enhance their socio-economic status and overall well-being

Disaster Preparedness and Relief

JKWS has been actively involved in disaster preparedness and relief operations, particularly for fisherfolk communities along the Bay of Bengal. We conduct training programs on disaster preparedness and provide immediate relief during natural calamities, ensuring the safety and resilience of these communities

Combating Child Labor

Recognizing the detrimental impact of child labor, JKWS initiated the “Combating Child Labor Project” in 60 slums and villages across Rajahmundry Urban and Rural Mandals. This project aims to eliminate child labor by providing education and vocational training to children, thereby offering them a pathway to a brighter future

Support for Children Living with HIV/AIDS (CLHIV/CAA)

In collaboration with various stakeholders, JKWS launched the CHAHA Project in July 2007 to support children living with HIV/AIDS in Visakhapatnam District. The project has identified and registered over 1,000 CLHIV/CAA, providing them with health and medical care, educational support, psycho-social assistance, and income generation programs

Environmental Conservation

We are committed to environmental education and mangrove conservation along the Andhra Pradesh coast. Our programs aim to raise awareness among students and local communities about the importance of mangroves in coastal ecosystems and promote their preservation
